Carrom Board

Playing surface

Plywood, 29 inches square. Thickness generally 12–16 mm.

Frames

Four sides, 3 inches wide, 2 inches thick.

Pockets

Four corner pockets, each 4.45 cm in diameter.

Base lines

Four lines; distance between the two lines is 3.18 cm.

Base circles

Eight circles, 3.18 cm diameter, painted red.

Centre circle

Red circle, 3.18 cm in diameter.

Outer circle

17 cm in diameter.

Coins and Striker

Coins

9 white, 9 black, 1 red (Queen) — 19 in total. Diameter 3.18 cm; weight 5.25–5.50 g.

Striker

Weight not more than 15 g. Maximum diameter 4.13 cm.

Stand, Seat, and Light

Stand

Height between 63 cm and 70 cm.

Stool or chair

Height between 40 cm and 50 cm.

Lamp

Hung at the centre of the board so naked light does not fall on the players' eyes.

Sitting position

Singles: players sit opposite each other. Doubles: partners sit opposite each other.
